ABOUT ME
I’ve worked in the alcohol field for over 20 years, and since 2009 I’ve been offering independent consultancy. I was part of the original team behind the Dry January campaign and have contributed to every campaign since it began.
In 2018, I wrote Try Dry: The Official Guide to a Month Off Booze, and in 2025 my next book, Alcohol@Work: Tackling Workplace Drinking to Improve Wellbeing, will be published by Taylor & Francis.
My work has always focused on reducing alcohol-related harm—to individuals, families, workplaces and communities. I’m especially passionate about supporting people who are often overlooked, including those living with alcohol-related brain damage and their families.
I’ve worked with hundreds of organisations across the UK—public, private, and third sector—to develop effective, compassionate alcohol policies and practices. Previous clients include BT, Oracle, Eversheds Sutherland, Allianz, and many more.
My approach is evidence-based, practical, and engaging. Training sessions are interactive and tailored to the real-world challenges your staff face. I believe a well-trained and supported workforce is key to improving wellbeing and recovery outcomes.
If you’d like to explore how I can support your organisation or frontline teams, please get in touch. I can be commissioned directly or through charities such as Adfam, Alcohol Change UK, or via Mosaic Training.
