HOW CAN I HELP?
For HR/OH Managers
According to the Institute of Alcohol Studies, excessive alcohol consumption is responsible for over 17 million sick days taken in the UK each year, that’s around 5% of all sickness absence. It makes sense to tackle potential alcohol issues before they become a problem.
Whether you’re updating your existing substance use policy and practices or starting from scratch, I can guide you through the process.
With the national Charity, Alcohol Change UK, I offer a bespoke, confidential consultancy service that can include staff consultation, liaison with unions, staff, management and other stakeholders, training and awareness raising activities, policy development and implementation.
If you’re planning to increase your wellbeing offer to include alcohol awareness, I can offer anonymous screening, awareness raising activities, stands, quizzes, mocktails and more.
If you’d like to run Dry January as a wellbeing campaign or a fundraiser, get in touch.
For practitioners working with alcohol-using clients
Check out the resource pages.
I’ve put together some of the tools that I use as a practitioner, so I hope they’ll be of use to you. In our line of work, it’s so important to connect with others and share good practice and develop our community.
I like to connect people and I love to swap stories, ideas, resources and just keep in touch with the amazing folk who support others to change. So, drop me an email, follow me on social media, call me, whatever! And let’s work together to improve our skills to give our clients the best recovery possible.
For practitioners working with families affected by substance use
Families and friends are usually those most invested in a loved one’s recovery from drug or alcohol use but how best to support them whilst they support their loved one?
Working with Adfam, I offer accredited training in all aspects of family work including working with individuals and groups, family dynamics, working with parents who use substances, hidden harm, Blue Light for families and more.
